Afternoon with Local Community Police

Dawn Bullen 0 444

This week Year Three and Four had an amazing afternoon with the local community police officers. They let us try on their uniforms and showed us all around the riot van. We learned lots about  the different kinds of jobs that the police do to keep us safe.  There really is no way you can get out of the back of the van! I tried!

What a food filled week we have had !

The children behaved amazingly on our trip to Tesco yesterday and loved trying the different fruits and vegetables and finding out how they grew. We even made our own healthy muesli!
Earlier in the week the children popped into the “World  Kitchen” in our classroom to try a taste of the Middle East as we sampled hummus and vegetable sticks.
A wonderful week with wonderful children !

Happy New Year !

We have had an amazing first week back in Year 3 as we launched our new topic - World Kitchen. We got stuck in straight away and spent an afternoon learning how to make a delicious fruit salad. We used the globe to locate countries around the world where different  fruits are grown. The children are really hooked into this topic and we can’t wait for more yummy food tasting sessions !

IT’S A CHRISTMAS CRACKER AT BANK END!

Gary Child 0 5284

Christmas has certainly arrived at Worsbrough Bank End Primary School, where Santa was guest of honour for a day of festive fun on Friday 15th December.

To get the (snow)ball rolling, everyone in school was invited to wear a Christmas jumper, with money raised being split between the school and charity.

Santa then dropped in to hold a special grotto, handing out smiles and presents, with pupils being taken to see him by the school elf. And no festive celebrations would be complete without the traditonal Christmas dinner, which was held in the school dining hall.

Helping everyone get in the Christmas spirit in the lead up to the 15th, the school’s Early Years/Year 1 pupils staged their version of the nativity on 13th December, with a Christmas Performance from Years 2 to 6 on 14th December, featuring song and dance.

Commented Worsbrough Bank End Primary School’s Executive Headteacher Nic Thorpe:

“The children have worked really hard on all of the Christmas activities and we were particularly lucky that Santa chose to drop in and join our celebrations!”
