Anglo-Saxon Day

Anglo-Saxon Day

Year 5 started the day off looking fabulous in their various costumes showing what they knew about how the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings were attired. Our first activities included finding out who these people were, where they came from and when they were around in history. Everybody could recount at least two facts by playtime! As the morning progressed, the children designed and made their own trusty shield that an Anglo-Saxon would take into battle. Can you see what media they used? Later, they learned about runes before deciphering then making up their own messages using the runes.
