This half term we will be learning about life in the 1950s.

As Artists and Designers we will be designing a making a colourful juke box for our class cafe.

As Mathematicians we will be learning about the coins that were used in the 1950s and we will be converting the prices of today to what they would have been back then.

As Musicians we will be learning about the music our grandparents danced and listened to.

Y5 Class Visit

In the 1950s ice skating was a popular pastime. This half term we will experience ice skating at Doncaster Dome. When we have finished ice skating we will enjoy a Happy Meal at a McDonald’s restaurant.

More details about this trip will follow.

Year 1 ‘do like to be beside the seaside…’

This term we are looking at the seaside.

We are comparing Filey to Worsbrough and investigating to discover what differences we can find.

We will also be looking at seaside holidays in the past.

If you have any old photos of holidays at the seaside and are happy to bring them into school, we would be most grateful.

Farewell to Arms for Year 4…

At last the conflict is over and the gas masks can be worn for the last time before being taken home. Y4 have enjoyed their topic and learnt a great deal about life during World War II.
