We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the parents/carers that suported the children’s Enterprise. We made an impressive profit of £54.60! The children decided on the types of stalls they wanted and worked hard this morning to get everything ready so we hope that you enjoyed it. We appreciate that it is not always easy to support us financially so thank you for your generosity. This term we have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians. As part of our topic, we have organised an enterprise event to which we warmly invite you. Our enterprise will take place on Friday 23rd March 2012 at 1:00p.m. in the school hall. For our enterprise the children have organised and will run various activities linked with the topic. These include: a mummification workshop; ancient Egyptian games and jewellery making; competitions with prizes and a presentation about pyramids. There will also be refreshments for sale. We do hope that you will be able to attend this exciting event. Thank you for your continued support. Year 3 had their enterprise afternoon on Thursday 24th November. The children had been learning about Viking Culture and beliefs. We were very happy to see so many family members who came to see the children’s work and learn a little themselves about Viking society. The enterprise raised over £60 all of which will be put towards the class trip during the spring term! On Tuesday, Y6, Mr Cooper, Ms Austin and Miss Anwar held their Enterprise Day in the school hall. A big thank you to all those parents who came along and assisted us with the ‘Design an Air Raid Shelter Challenge’, played ‘Spot The German’, bought our tastefully decorated bookmarks and had a go at our brain-busting World War Two quiz! The winning shelter was constructed by Imogen and her mum plus Morgan and the quiz was won by Kaitlin and her parents. A prize for an alliterative team name was also won by Courtney. £25 was raised for Y6’s future rewards, so thanks again for all your hard work and money! In Year Four this week we had our enterprise afternoon. Here are some of the children and adults making the boats from recycled rubbish. Thank you to all of the adults who came to support this event and make it successful. We all had a great time and there are now some wonderful creations on display in our classroom. Year 3 have been busy getting ready for our Enterprise Day on Thursday 24th November. We have been baking delicious buns which will be on sale with refreshments for 50p. We are so excited so see you all and tell you everything we have learned about The Vikings! As you know our topic in Year 1 is ‘Dungeons and Dragons’. As part of our topic we are holding an enterprise day where we will try to earn as much money as we can for our class. We would be really grateful if you could help us. Year 1 would like to invite you to our fantastic ‘Knights Challenge’. This will be held on Tuesday 22nd November and will start at 1 ‘o’ clock. The afternoon will involve parents/carers coming into school to take part in some creative activities with your children.
We really hope that you can join us for this fun and exciting afternoon in our wonderful school. Children will need to come to school as normal in the morning so we can all set up for the afternoon. You will need to come into school via the Year 1 entrance at 1 o’clock. Parents/carers will need to pay £1 to come and join in the fun. We are extremely excited in class 3 this week as we are busy preparing for our enterprise day. We are hard at work designing posters and invitations and putting the last touches on Viking items we have been making over the last few weeks. Next week Year 1 will be selling ice-creams on Tuesday afternoon in the KS2 playground (hall if raining!). They will cost 50p so don’t forget your money. Before we did this we collected information from every class about favourite ice-cream flavours and flavour of toppings. We will; be using this information to decide what ice-creams to sell. |
