| Half Term Holiday | | The children break up for half term on Friday 26th October and return to school on Monday 5th November. We hope all the children have a lovely and safe holiday. | | | | Lost Property | | Already this half term we have a large collection of lost property, jumpers, cardigans, PE kit and coats. Unfortunately as most of it is not named we can't return it to the children. So if you think your child has lost some clothing please come into school and look in the lost property. | | | | Halloween Mask Making | | Thank you to all the parents and children who came to the Halloween Mask Making event after school yesterday. It was very well attended and the children produced some lovely masks and hats. Thanks to Miss Ward our Parent Support Advisor and the Learning Net for organising such a successful event. |

A plaque in memory of Miss Senior has now been put on one of the benches in the Key Stage Two play ground this was bought with money donated by parents and staff. We also bought and had engraved two attendance cups which are given out each week to the class in Key Stage One and Key Stage Two that has the highest attendance for the previous week. We sent the remaining £77 to the Rotherham Hospice that looked after Miss Senior. |

Last week we had a show called Pinocchio. A group called the kosmic crew came in and did it. The show started of with jiminy cricket singing. It was horrendous singing but at least it was funny. The was really good, we all liked it .even he little ones in KS1 thought it was very funny. The characters were: Jepeto, Pinocchio, Figro, Achoo, Honest John, Jiminy Cricket, Blue fairy, Cleo (the fish)and Stromboli. Jepeto was the father of Pinocchio and was also a puppet master. Pinocchio is a puppet and is the son to Jepeto. Figro is Jepeto’s cat. Achoo works for mr Stromboli at his circus as doed Honest John.Jiminy Cricket had the job of Pinocchio’s conscience. The blue fairy was just there to help Pinocchio. Stromboli buys Pinocchio from Honest John and is cruel to him.. It was brilliant that day and I bet we all wish we could have another show at school done by the Kosmic Crew. By BH |

We have just finished our science week at Bankend Primary School. Over the week lots of visitors came into school and we learnt about how science effects our everyday lives and some ways in which we can use science to have fun. We learnt about the importance of healthy eating and keeping fit, the dangers of smoking, how to create a balanced diet for ourselves and how to plat 'science' tricks on on out families and friends - this usually involved somebody getting wet. We created rockets and missiles and fired them across the school hall, and flew a hot air balloon up to the ceiling. Science week was great fun (and we learnt a lot!). | |
