Toothy Snaps

In Y4 this week we have been learning how animals have teeth that are suited to their diets. We found out about the functions of incisors, canines and molars and then studied skulls to decide whether each animal they belonged to was a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. Afterwards we also thought about why birds have differently shaped beaks and compared the beaks of finches, thinking about what they eat. Then we investigated which implement is the most effective at picking up seeds from the ground, which is what ground finches do with their beaks.
