Who do these footprints belong to?

This week the children in reception were shocked to discover footprints throughout the Early Years Unit. They spent a lot of time searching for clues as to what had been visiting the school over the weekend. The excitement continued throughout the week when they discovered new clues each morning including half eaten pears, banana skin and lots of orange peel. What could it be? The children decided to make signs and posters to tell the mysterious creature that it was not allowed into our school.

During Literacy the children were writing sentences about their findings this lead them into writing an investigation report about the latest events and clues. The children explored doubling this week in Mathematics, counting footprints and putting them into our special doubling machine to find out how many footprints would be found if there were two of these mysterious creatures exploring our school.
