Dear all

Welcome back to a new school year at Worsbrough Bank End Primary School.  I hope you have had a great summer and are ready for a learning packed year.

Coming out today are our new homework packs, which include a reading diary with library opening times printed on the reverse.  Libraries are free and great resources for supporting children to become life-long readers.  Please support your child by encouraging that they read for 5-10 minutes per night at least 5 times a week.

We have some fantastic new learning spaces around our outdoors.  Watch out for them on our website as the year unfolds.

Tuesday: KS1 Multi-sports

Wednesday: KS1 and KS2 Tennis

Please fill in a slip for all clubs except choir and craft club as these are by invite only.  Thank you!

School Uniform:

Many thanks to all the families who have sent their children back to school in the agreed uniform.  We know from years of experience that children who conform to the rules of the school uniform also conform well to rules relating to behaviour and codes of conduct.

Please could I remind the families that all children including nursery children need a PE kit that is brought into school on Monday and taken home on Friday? Physical Education is a core subject and as such we have a statutory duty to ensure that they take part in lessons weekly.  Please make sure your children have the appropriate kit at all times.

School Dinners/Milk:

Please note: In line with the Local Authority, school dinners will be increasing by 5p per meal from September. This will mean that one week’s meals would be £8.75. Milk is charged at £10.50 per term and is due now.

FEET:

FEET will be starting again from Tuesday 17th September at 9:05am.

Please be sure to ask any new families who have young children to come along and join Miss Gagen for the new sessions.
