This week the children in Reception have extended their gardening experience to planting vegetables.

On Monday as part of our hook into learning the children planted a variety of vegetables that we are going to look after and help to grow over the summer term. The children made windmills and wind chimes to distract birds from the seeds and placed these around the planters outside. As part of our science learning the children worked in groups to set up an experiment with cress heads to find out what a plant needs to grow. This week the children evaluated the results of their investigation and found out what the cress needs to grow in the best way.
